A study from the University of Florida revealed that chronic stress occurs continuously can inhibit weight loss. The reason, chronic stress stimulates the production of proteins betatrophin that can reduce the body's ability to break down fat.
"Stress makes the metabolism of fat in the body is slower, the result was tertimbuh fat," said Dr. Li-Jun Yang, of the UF College of Medicine, as quoted by the Daily Mail,
In this study, researchers used mice to find out more about the properties of betatrophin, especially his reaction to the fat in the body. It was found that mice with metabolic stress more often, generate significantly more betatrophin too. Furthermore, normal fat-burning process they also become very slow.
"These findings establish that betatrophin is a protein that is associated with stress," added Yang.
Although research has not been done directly on humans, but Yang believes that the results that appear most likely not much different. According to him, it remains the most important is the fact that stress has a bad effect on the health of the body.
