Yogurt Can Replace Anti Depression

"It allows a person to eat yogurt with probiotics and is not an
antidepressant," said researcher John Cryan, neuroscientists from University College Cork in Ireland, was quoted as saying by LiveScience

Cryan said to affect bacteria in the gut can develop a broad spectrum of chemicals in the brain and behavior. As well as allowing the development of therapies to treat psychiatric disorders by targeting the gut.

"The effects depend on the strain of probiotic hanging in the yogurt, so it does not mean that every day should eat yogurt. But it is expected to have fewer side effects than drugs," he said.

To find out, researchers experimented on rats given broth containing Lactobacillus rhamnosus JB-1 (bacteria that is naturally present in the gut).

Unknown mice given bacteria have behavioral stress, anxiety and depression are less. Levels of the stress hormone corticosterone were significantly lower. This suggests that the bacteria can be used as probiotics to improve health.
