Various studies have shown, the notion that eating chocolate makes fat is a myth. A recent study again denied these myths, even adds to evidence that eating chocolate regularly just make a quick skinny.
Research conducted at the University of California have shown that people who eat chocolate regularly tend to be thinner. Although it remains to be coupled with exercise, but the difference is quite significant compared to who did not eat chocolate.
A Beatrice Golomb, MD, PhD, who conducted the study spread out questionnaires to 1,018 respondents aged 57 years on average. All respondents are involved in good health, had no
history of chronic disease such as diabetes or heart disease.
In the questionnaire, Beatrice ask a few questions related to selection menu daily meals included frequent or not eat chocolate. Additionally, Beatrice also take measurements of body mass index (BMI) of the participants.
The analysis showed, the more diligent and regularly eat chocolate, the respondents tended to have a lower BMI. This means that a relatively smaller weight when compared with height, so that the general condition can be more healthy.
Respondents involved in the study had an average BMI of 28 kg / m2 or categorized as overweight. Chocolate consumption on average 2 times a week, while sports and other physical activities with moderate to severe intensity carried out 3.6 times per week.
Weight differences in respondents most often eat chocolate dengna who never eat chocolate significantly, ie between 2.6 kg to 3.1 kg. Nevertheless, Beatrice advised not to rush to make eating chocolate as a shortcut to skinny.
He acknowledged, there are many weaknesses in this study because it does not distinguish between types of chocolate consumed by the respondent. Quoted from HealthDay, dark chocolate is healthier and less calorie than milk chocolate.
