Wikipedia will Have Features for Blind People


Working with researchers in Sweden, Wikipedia develop speech engine or voice-producing machines. This machine is easy for the visually impaired users to access Wikipedia.
Technology Wikimedia result of collaboration with KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and invented a special platform that will read Wikipedia content for users.
Described as an organization that houses Wikimedia Wikipedia, they use a search engine of its open source and free for sites that are run using the MediaWiki software.
"The researchers developed a sound producing machine for the Swedish, English and Arabic. The development is scheduled to be completed September 2017 and will be extended to 280 languages," the report quoted by the Times of India.
Translating content into audio form will be crowdsource. That is, users are invited to contribute to Wikipedia, as well as fill the Wikipedia article content.
Last January, at the 15th birthday Wikipedia looking for ways to get fresh funding for the development of its services.
The service was launched on January 15, 2001 it was made a new donation program to get USD 250 million or about 3.4 trillion. This online encyclopedia is dependent on donations to sustain its operations.
