Unique, bathing Tortoise Aged 184 Years

Bathing the animal is common for most people who raise animals. But if the pet is another story that has never been bathed for 184 years.
Quoted from Saint Helena government's Web site, unique and historic event that took place on Saturday, March 19th last.
For the first time, a giant tortoise named Jonathan bathed by guardians, Dr. Joe Hollins.
Judging from his age, Jonathan allegedly is the oldest living animal on the planet Earth. He was even seen as a precious treasure for the country.

justify;">Meanwhile, the doctor explains the reason why the 'grandfather' should be bathed. The vet did so after bathing female tortoise at Plantation House on the island.
Previous Joe chatted with tortoise specialist to determine ways of cleaning, namely by rubbing gently with a rotating pattern with a material that is not eroded.

"The reason is simply for the sake of beauty. We want the guests and tourists come to the island to watch the turtles in their original form, free from moss and crust shell, "said the doctor.
"Many are attracted by Jonathan, who is the most famous animal on the island of Saint Helena, and we want those visitors who saw it in the best circumstances," he added.

Joe has built a close relationship with the animal after feeding with bare hands during the last few years.
"He responded to my voice and we have a special bond. I checked every week and provide food such as vegetables and fresh fruits, to ensure 'grandparents' old get nutrition and fluid intake is sufficient. "
"As a veterinarian, caring for Jonathan is a great honor. He is known as the oldest animal in the world. I am fond of the animals and keep Jonathan. It became the most unique experience of my career. "
On average tortoise can only reach the age of 150 years. Thus, Jonathan already have this extension more than 3 decades.
