When relapse, migraine can be very annoying and decreases productivity. If you have a migraine, some foods need to be avoided, one of which is a banana. Why?
There are a number of factors that can trigger a migraine, one of which is food. Some of the foods that cause migraines usually contain a chemical compound called tyramine.
Tyramine is dominant in the composition of bananas. Therefore, bananas are considered a strong trigger for headaches bananas, as reported by Livestrong.
High concentrations of
tyramine in the blood of migraine patients could cause vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels) blood vessels in the brain. In addition, people with migraines seem to also lack the enzyme needed to break down tyramine.
Another fruit that is associated with an increased frequency of migraines include papaya, red plums, raisins, figs and ripe avocados and bananas.
While the vegetables that often trigger migraines include peas, onions, garlic, beans, olives, pickles and sauerkraut.
In most cases, migraine sufferers feel a throbbing pain on one side of the head (sometimes spread to both the head), and is usually accompanied by nausea or vomiting. A small portion of patients also feel the aura of zigzags, circles of light or blurred vision before the attack came.
Although the exact cause of migraine is still under debate, but most researchers seem to agree that migraine is caused by decreased blood flow to the brain cells. This in turn can lead to narrowing of the arteries, which is triggered by certain external factors.
