Have Coworkers Noisy Good for Creativity


Often the concentration of so dispersed if a co-worker noisy, either as chatty or hobby playing music loudly. But do not worry, as long as not excessively noisy coworkers who can actually make the brain more creative.

A recent study shows, the working atmosphere is too quiet even less favorable in terms of creativity. If it can be concentration, work in a quiet room tends to be boring and lacking stimulating the emergence of fresh ideas.

Ideal working atmosphere according to research by a scientist named Amar Cheema PhD is somewhat noisy, the sound intensity of about 70 decibels (dB). As an illustration, the noise level is approximately
equivalent to the atmosphere of a cafe or coffee shop.

This was evidenced when Dr. Cheema examined about 300 volunteers, who were divided into three groups with different treatment. The first group are conditioned to work in a quiet room, the second group in the room were a bit noisy and the last one in the room is too noisy.

While in the respective chambers, the participants were also asked to do a kind of intelligence test to measure creativity. The more creative brain, the more straightforward and innovative well as answers provided by volunteers.

After comparison, participants who work in conditions somewhat noisy room showed the highest score compared to the other two groups. This means that while working in the room were a bit noisy, a person can be more creative than when in a room that is too quiet or too noisy.

"If the work space is not ideal for supporting creativity, should find the chat. Bring jobs to the cafeteria or a public place, or open the door so that the sound can get in and the atmosphere is so like the cafe," advises Dr. Cheema was quoted as saying Menshealth.com,
