Stay at Home with Lots of Trees Known Women Make Better Health

Living in a house with lots of trees must have seemed beautiful and can make the occupants feel comfortable. Particularly in women, a residence with such criteria is also beneficial for health, you know.

A recent study from Harvard says women who stay at home with lots of trees and plants have a lower risk of death, compared to women living in the densely populated neighborhood. For this study, researchers collected data from 2000 to 2008 involving 108,000 thousand women in the United States.

"We were surprised to see the results that are so related to this," said study author Peter James, an assistant researcher at Chan T.S Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.

Researchers say women who stay at home with lots of plants and trees have an increased risk of death was 12 percent lower than women who live in densely populated locations. Furthermore, James said the house with the green environment also lowers a woman's risk of respiratory disease up to 34 percent.

Meanwhile, the cancer risk of women who resided in green berlingkungan can also be decreased to 13 percent. As quoted from CBS News.

Researchers say, live in a green environment is also beneficial to reduce levels of depression a person. Another element that is also seen as an opportunity to socialize, physical activity levels, and degree of exposure to air pollution.

Although this study found no relationship between the neighborhood and the level of human life, the researcher confirms the study did not prove a causal relationship between the two.

"For that we need a further study to explain the cause," said James.
