Japan - The population of the elderly (the elderly) is an increasing problem in Japan. The hospital staff and caregivers in nursing homes often conduct patient lift about 40 times a day. This can lead to lower back pain for staff and nurses.
To help nurses, researchers from the Riken robot-SRK Collaboration Center for Human-Interactive Robot Research to develop robot named Robear to help and support their daily tasks.
Reported by the Daily Mail, Robear a robot with a funny face, full of affection, such as those found in the cartoons. Robear will be on duty lifting and for elderly people to stand up from the bed.
Robear able to do a very gentle movement when lifting the patient and carry on his arm.

Robear has a mechanical arm that can lift up to 80 kilograms and had wheels on the legs in order to provide sufficient space for bending and lifting patients even in a state of motion.
Robear weighing 140 kilograms was supported by the software and mechanical control with three types of sensors, including Smart Rubber Capacitance-- these attributes make the robot to perform slow movements properly and smoothly.
In addition Robear also able to move very gently as you lift and carry a patient on his arm. Riken Institute hopes Robear can help and are used in various hospitals.
Regarding the shape of a bear and her cute, research leader Toshiharu Mukai said, "The face bears chosen because at the same time exudes strength, hospitality and cleanliness."
