Archaeologists Find 2,000 Year-Old Eggs


China Archaeologists in Guizhou Province, China, found an egg that claimed more than 2,000 years old on Wednesday,
The researchers are working with cultural relics and archeology institute Guizhou, finding objects in an ancient tomb of the Han Dynasty (202 BC to 220 AD) on the ruins Huangjinwan. Huangjinwan ruins itself is the site of the largest Han dynasty ever discovered in the Chishui River with an
area of ​​40,000 square meters.
Head of research, Zhang Gaike, said, "We are trying to clean up the mud on an object that looks like a shell. But once the brush touches the object, suddenly cracked."
The discovery of the eggs that resembles a chicken egg is at once became the first in the history of the excavation of ancient tombs in Guizhou. Zhang said the findings show a different habit in the funeral procession to the Han dynasty with the previous dynasty, the Shang and Zhou.
"During the Shang and Zhou dynasties, people prefer to be buried with items of fine bronze. But Han, people carry daily necessities in their graves," he said as quoted by Xinhua.
The researchers said they need more time to examine the relevant types of eggs because the latter has peculiarities. If the eggs should have been more than 2000 years old and are easily destroyed and damaged, but the eggs are still hardened and persist over long periods.
