Artificial intelligence technology continues to increase turned out to be coupled with the fear that the technology will be used for the robot can threaten human life.
To reduce the anxiety, a group of scientists have developed artificial intelligence technology to train how to behave when socializing.
Quixote is a technology developed by a group of researchers from the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Interactive Computing. Through this technology, the robot is taught how to read a children's book, understand the social customs in society, as well as learn a standard sequence of events.
One researcher on the project, Mark Riedl said the reason why choosing a children's story. This is because to prevent the robot perform destructive actions.
The researchers believe that if the robot can understand the children's story, this
process can avoid the symptoms of psychotic action. In addition, it is also expected to help robots pick up a selection without hurting humans.
Riedl explained Quixote, the robot can be taught how to act like the protagonist in a children's story. He pointed to a task, for example, the robot was asked to line drug for humans. The robot has several options to complete the task.
He can steal, speaking at the pharmacist to get the drug, or wait patiently in front of the cashier. Riedl said without Quixote system, a robot can only take selection for stealing drugs more quickly and efficiently.
By way of teaching him how to behave, an artificial intelligence can understand that choice is wrong to steal. In fact, by giving a gift when the robot select two other options, artificial intelligence was able to understand that the choice is a good thing.
"This is the best technique for a robot that has a limited task, but it requires human interaction to complete," he said as quoted from page Tech Times, Saturday
He also added that this is the first step toward a moral reasoning in artificial intelligence.
Quixote himself is a method with a value alignment to connect the purpose robot with the appropriate behavior in a social order. This technology is based on the fact Riedl previous research.
