Found, Dinosaurs 'Dragon Mini' Jurassic creature Pioneers

Portsmouth - In 2014, the brothers Rob and Nick Hanigan is busy in search project Ichthyosaur fossils. However, they get more interesting discovery, the bones of dinosaurs which allegedly came from dinosaurs first to explore the earth.
They explored a bay in South Wales to seek evidence that dinosaur fossils, noting the circumstances surrounding geology. Then they contacted the University of Portsmouth palaeontologist, who confirmed that the bones belong to theropods, carnivorous dinosaur.
The creature to the bone was in fact lived at the beginning of the beginning of the Jurassic era (the era after the Triassic period ended, 201.3 million to 60 million years ago), according to Steven Vidovic, paleontology doctoral researcher at the University of Portsmouth.
"Rebuilding these bones seemed a puzzle," said Vidovic on Live Science. "Very satisfying when it managed to do it."
The researchers named the new species Dracoraptor hanigani, which roughly translates 'dinosaur dragon' (dragon is a symbol of national animal Wales), also called on Hanigan brothers as a token of appreciation for their services find and submit the new specimen at the National Museum of Wales, Amgueddfa Cymru.

In his lifetime, about 201 million years ago, D. hanigani allegedly hunt and apprehend prey using their teeth are small and sharp, measuring less than 1 cm.
However, their teeth were found not full size. Analysis of the bones indicates the creature was found by Hanigan brothers were aged children, the bones have not fully developed and integrated.

D. Hanigani sized dinosaur cute compared to other carnivorous dinosaurs. Distant relative, Tyrannosaurus rex (T. rex) plays 4 meters and has a length of 12.3 meters, whereas D. Hanigani only plays 70 cm and has a length of 2 meters. This species has a long tail, most likely to help her balance, according to dinosaur expert.
Not much is known about the dinosaurs in the early Jurassic period, according to Vidovic. "The bones are the best fossil evidence that we have today," he said.
There are dinosaur fossils recorded in the Triassic Period (between 251 million to 199 million years ago) in the UK.
However, the discovery of early Jurassic creature's skull was significant. The end of the Triassic era ushered in the end of more than 75 percent of marine life and land, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica.
These extinctions, which remove many species, most likely helped the dinosaurs to breed and create more diverse species, according to Vidovic.
"About 200 million years ago, dinosaurs look similar to each other, however, in the early Jurassic period, one new species," said Vidovic.
"The reason dinosaurs look similar at first glance is because of the many dinosaurs that come after repeating the same formula."
The study was published Jan. 20 in the journal PLoS ONE.
