The discovery of a statue of Lord Greece In Crete


                                                                                                                                                                    The archaeologists have found two small sized sculptures depicting gods Artemis and Apollo god in a Roman villa in Crete, Greece. The archaeological site is located in Aptera, a city located in the west of Crete which was destroyed by an earthquake in the 7th century BC.
The sculptures with a height of 21 inches is expected to come from the first or second century AD it was made of copper while his twin brother Apollo god made of marble. Statue of Artemis with ornaments are also made of copper wore Chiton or tunic and ready to shoot.

While the god Apollo statue looks more simple with very fine carving. Semnetara traces of red paint looks seen on the pedestal of the statue.

According to the archaeological team led by archaeologist Vanna ninou-Kindelis, director of excavations at Aptera, two sculptures is most likely brought to this place to decorate the temple in the Roman Villa at the second where the statue was found.
