Rare Phenomenon Appears Aurora on Saturn

which usually captured with the camera on Earth. Other planets such as Saturn also have the phenomenon.

Reported by the Examiner, Wednesday (12/02/2014), a photo and a video recently released US space agency, NASA. The appearance of aurora captured by the Cassini spacecraft orbiting the ringed planet close.

Not only
Cassini, the Hubble Space Telescope also capture images of auroras on Saturn with infrared technology. The phenomenon that appeared in Saturn's rare, because researchers are not always able to see the light from the planet.

"Aurora Saturn can be fickle. (That is), you may see the fireworks, you might not see anything," said Jonathan Nichols of the University of Leicester in England.

He said, in 2013, a team of researchers watched the aurora dance (dancing Auroras) and super quick burst of light appeared in the polar regions. "This is the best look we've seen on the rapidly changing patterns of auroral emissions," said Wayne Pryor, Cassini researchers at Central Arizona College.

Furthermore, he said, some points of light come and go as seen from NASA instruments catches. Figure aurora on Saturn was made in late April and May 2013.

As on Earth, the auroral phenomena could arise because the charged particles are released Sun, interacting with Saturn's atmosphere. Saturn to Earth's aurora difference lies in the color. When at the bottom of the Earth's aurora is green, red at the top.

While in Saturn's aurora show in red on the bottom and purple top. This difference arises because the Earth has a predominance of nitrogen and oxygen molecules. While at Saturn, dominated by hydrogen molecules.
